Privacy Policy

Get Construction Estimate collects the contact details you enter on the quote form and the drawing files you upload, and uses them to price and produce your estimate. Nothing more.

We do not run analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies of any kind on this site. We do not sell or share your information, and we do not send marketing email you did not ask for.

Your drawings are treated as confidential. They are used to produce your estimate and are not shared, published or used as examples without your written permission.

Who we are

Get Construction Estimate provides outsourced construction estimating and takeoff services to contractors. This policy covers getconstructionestimate.com and the quote process that runs through it.

For any question about this policy or about your information, you can reach us through the contact form at getconstructionestimate.com/contact/.

What we collect

We collect two things, and only when you choose to give them.

  • Quote details you enter: name, company, email address, phone number, project type, state and ZIP code, the date you need the estimate by, the level of detail required, the trades in scope, and any notes you add.
  • Files you upload: plan sets, drawings, specifications and schedules, in PDF, DWG, DOC, image and ZIP formats.
  • Live chat messages, if you start a chat. The chat is operated by tawk.to and anything you type there is processed on their systems.
  • Standard server logs kept by our host, including IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These are used to keep the site running and secure.

What we do not collect

This site runs no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising or remarketing pixels, and no tracking cookies. We do not build visitor profiles, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not buy or enrich contact data from third parties.

We state this because it is unusual, and because it is checkable — you can open the page source and confirm it.

Your drawings, and confidentiality

This is the part of the policy that matters most for our work, so it is worth being specific.

When you upload a plan set, those files are frequently not only yours. They may belong to an owner, a developer or an architect, and you may be under your own confidentiality agreement covering them. We treat every uploaded drawing on that assumption.

Uploaded files are used for one purpose: producing the takeoff or estimate you asked for. We do not share them outside the estimators assigned to your project. We do not publish them, use them as portfolio examples, use them to train any machine learning system, or show them to other clients — not in anonymized form, not in part.

If you need a signed non-disclosure agreement in place before you send anything, ask and we will sign one. We do this as a matter of course and it costs nothing.

Why we process your information

We use your quote details to price the work, contact you about it and deliver the finished estimate. We use your files to produce that estimate.

We keep a record of completed work for our own accounting and to answer questions about a past estimate if you come back to us.

Where UK or EU data protection law applies, our lawful basis is the performance of a contract with you, or our legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you initiated. We do not rely on consent for any of this, because none of it is marketing.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of service providers to run the business, and each of them only receives what it needs to do its job.

  • Vercel — hosting for this website and its server logs. Data may be processed in the United States.
  • Cloudflare R2 — storage for the files you upload. Files go from your browser straight to R2 using a short-lived upload link; they do not pass through this website's servers.
  • Resend — sends the email that notifies us of your submission and delivers your estimate.
  • tawk.to — operates the live chat widget, if you use it.
  • We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

How long we keep it

Download links for uploaded files expire seven days after they are issued.

We keep your enquiry details and uploaded files for as long as we need them to produce and support your estimate, and to meet our accounting obligations. We do not keep them indefinitely as a matter of course.

You can ask us to delete your files and enquiry details at any time and we will do so, unless we are required to keep a record for accounting or legal reasons.

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS. Upload links are single-use, limited to one file of one declared type and size, and expire ten minutes after they are issued. Download links expire after seven days. Access to stored files is limited to the estimators working on your project.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. If a breach affects your information we will tell you, and we will tell the relevant regulator where the law requires it.

Cookies and the chat widget

This site sets no cookies of its own for analytics, advertising or tracking.

The tawk.to chat widget sets its own cookies so it can recognize a returning conversation. If you never open the chat, you can avoid these by blocking third-party cookies in your browser; the rest of the site works normally without it.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Reach us through the contact form at getconstructionestimate.com/contact/ and we will respond within thirty days.

If you are a California resident, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you rights to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, so there is nothing to opt out of — but the right to know, correct and delete applies and you can exercise it at the address above. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.

Other US states including Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia and Texas give comparable rights, and we handle all such requests the same way.

If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to object to processing, to request portability of your data, and to complain to your national supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.

Children

This is a business service. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be noted here rather than made quietly.
